Questions

What people ask before they book

How do I know you're licensed?

Ask for the license number and look it up with the body that issued it. Our number is in the footer of every page. In Missouri, plumbing licenses are usually issued by the city or county, so check the one where we'll be working.

Do you pull permits?

Where your city or county asks for one, yes. Some storm line discharges need approval first, and we check before we quote.

Will I get a price before you start?

Yes, in writing, for the route marked on the sketch. Anything outside the sketch is agreed in writing first.

Do you charge extra for rain days or nights?

We don't dig or pump at night, so there is no night rate. Rain days don't change the price. They change who answers the phone: until 7 p.m., Saturday included.

How long does a job take?

A downspout tie-in is usually a day or less. A French drain across a yard can take longer, and the plan gives the days for your route.

What happens if you hit rock?

We stop, show you, and write the change and its price before we go on. Ozark ground has a lot of rock, so it's the first thing we ask about.

Is my wet basement a drainage problem?

Sometimes. Water at the wall from the roof or the yard is ours to fix. A crack that is growing, a bowing wall or a leaking pipe inside is not. We'll say which at the walk-through.

Do you pump out a flooded basement?

No. We fix where the water comes from. For water in the house now, call a water-removal company, and stay clear of outlets and the panel.

What if the ground settles later?

Ask for any coverage in writing, with its terms, before you sign. What we cover goes into the plan.

Can you work with my landscaper?

Yes. We mark our line on your landscaper's plan, call 811, and tell them the day we dig.

Can you dig in winter?

When the ground isn't frozen. We say so at the walk-through if it will have to wait.

What are your hours?

Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. On heavy-rain days the phone is answered until 7 p.m., Saturday included. We are closed otherwise.

Still wondering where your water goes?

Have a short video of the wet spot ready, and we will ask for it when we call.
